About me
I am a creative person who truly appreciates all forms of art. I focus most of my time working with mixed media. I use my creative talents to relax after a tough day or to tune the world out for a little bit. What I find interesting is that I own only a few of my creations. I prefer to make things for others to enjoy. I once heard a saying that I find to be totally true; the art of buying art supplies has nothing to do with the art of doing art. I do love a great craft store and practice the art of buying supplies.
When not at home doing crafts, I like to spend my time with family and friends. Spending time with my loved ones often grounds me and brings me back to what really matters. I am lucky to say that most of my family is local to me and I am able to visit with little travel. With that said, I do have family from my Mother’s side in United Kingdom. I try to visit them as often as I can.
I love to travel – from weekend trips to distant locations requiring flight – and try to enjoy the world as much as I can. Living in the Washington, DC area, I have grown to love the multicultural nature of the area. Maybe when I retire I can spend more time on travel.
I have cats and a Beta fish. Visit my photography page to find some photos of my babies. I promise, I am not and will not turn into a cat lady. I used to have a boa constrictor which I raised from a little, skinny baby to a 10′ snake. Having a snake around your neck, when you answer the door, the solicitors are quick to get out of there. Came in handy on many occasions.
